Guatemala Buena Vista Gesha Natural

The natural process brings out ripe fruit notes of plum, grape, and raspberry, while the Gesha variety adds a soft chamomile-like floral quality. It is complex and fruit-forward without losing elegance. It especially stunning as a light roast filter coffee. Guatemala Buena Vista Gesha Natural is a truly special coffee from producer Fredy Orantes in Santa Rosa, Guatemala. Gesha is still an uncommon variety in Guatemala, and when grown well, it can show incredible sweetness, aromatics, and elegance. This lot brings together the fruit-forward depth of natural processing with the delicate floral character that makes Gesha so celebrated. The coffee is grown at high elevation on Fredy’s Buena Vista farm, where careful farm management and attention to detail are central to the final cup. Only the ripest red Gesha cherries are selected for this lot, then soaked to remove floaters and help even out the temperature of the fruit before drying. From there, the cherries are dried slowly on raised beds over 25 to 30 days, with close attention paid to even drying and preservation of quality.
