Everything you need to know.
Coffee & freshness
What is specialty coffee?
Specialty coffee is coffee evaluated at 80 points or higher on the established 100-point coffee scale. It is grown, selected and roasted for distinct flavor, sweetness, balance and character rather than treated as a generic commodity.
What do the points on your coffee graphics mean?
The score comes from the established 100-point coffee evaluation system. It considers attributes such as aroma, flavor, acidity, sweetness, body, balance and aftertaste. We use the score as one useful quality signal alongside origin, process, variety and tasting notes.
When is my coffee roasted?
We roast fresh throughout the week and ship Monday–Friday. Every bag is marked with its roast date.
How long does coffee stay fresh?
For peak flavor, we recommend drinking it within 30 days of the roast date. Properly sealed and stored away from heat and direct sunlight, it can remain delicious for up to 60 days.
Can you grind my coffee?
Yes. Available grind choices are shown on each product page and may include whole bean, filter or drip, French press and cold brew. Select the option that matches how you brew.
Is every Spesh coffee organic?
No. CCOF organic certification applies only to coffees specifically identified as certified organic on the product page.
Ordering & shipping
How often do you ship?

How much is shipping?

How are coffee orders packaged?
A 5 lb selection is fulfilled as two 2.5 lb bags, helping the coffee stay fresher after opening. 10 lb and 20 lb order are packaged in bulk 5 lb bags. The product image and size selector show the packaging for each available format.

Pricing & quality
Why is Spesh 35–50% less than comparable specialty retail?
We buy exceptional coffee, roast it and sell it directly to the people drinking it. By skipping middlemen and keeping overhead disciplined, we can offer the same caliber of coffee without the luxury markup.
Why does specialty coffee cost more than commodity coffee?
Specialty coffee reflects more selective growing, harvesting, processing, sourcing and roasting. Those choices produce greater sweetness, clarity and flavor—and they require more care throughout the supply chain.
How do you support the 35–50% price comparison?
When the exact coffee is sold elsewhere, we compare the posted retail prices directly. Otherwise, we use a comparison based on similar quality, origin, process and package size.
What does comparable specialty retail mean?
It means observed retail pricing from established specialty coffee roasters for coffees of similar quality, origin, process and package size.
Do you compare the exact same coffee?
Whenever the same coffee is sold by another specialty roaster, yes. When it is not available elsewhere, we use a comparison based on similar quality, origin, process and package size.
Is the comparison based on MSRP?
No universal MSRP exists for specialty coffee. We use observed, publicly posted retail prices and document the source and date of each comparison.
